Self-Hypnosis for Relief of Phantom Limb Pain

Self-hypnosis can be used to relieve phantom limb pain prior or during Mirror Therapy treatment.

Michael F. Garner, a British-certified hypnotherapist, developed effective self-hypnosis scripts for amputees suffering Phantom Limb Pain, focused specifically on arm/hand or leg/foot amputations.

Soothing narratives by Joseph Weisnewski combined with healing musical excerpts by Iqbal Ishani from SleepWell Journey encourage deep relaxation which promotes pain reduction. End The Pain Project offers the self-hypnosis  as mp3 downloads or CDs .

100% of the proceeds from the sale of a CD or mp3s help support the behind-the-scenes running of ETPP, such as office costs, staff, project costs. Your purchase supports needed non-invasive interventions for amputees suffering Phantom Limb Pain in developing countries.

Conway-Bike eBay Auction for End The Pain Project

It's with deep gratitude that The End The Pain Project's staff has accepted the proceeds from a recent eBay auction for a ConwayQ-RT 1100 Titan Bicycle by Hartje Bicycles of Germany.  This fantastic titanium bike has its seat autographed by the Canadian actor, Stephen Sumner of Battleship Galectica fame.

Mr. Sumner, an ETPP Board member and an above-knee amputee, successfully rode this lightweight unisex bike at the Berlin Velothon, June, 2009. The new German feature film, Phantomschmerz/ Phantom Pain, which premiered at the 2009 Toronto Film Festival, is based upon his experiences.

Hartje Bicycle's generous donation will fund a pilot project in mid-December.  End The Pain Project hopes to partner with several organizations in Vietnam to deliver Mirror Therapy to land mine amputees utilizing nonbreakable mirror kits for both arm/hand and leg/foot, along with self-hypnosis CDs to be translated into Vietnamese.
